Audio: Cee-Lo “Georgia”

We spoke not long ago about a new solo album in the works from Cee-Lo Green. The album will be titled The Lady Killer, and is expected to be released later this year. Here is the official first single, "Georgia," which features the crooner showing love to his home state. You can purchase the song on Amazon.

I’m down for the singing but Ceelo has always been a tough MC hope we can get a little mix on this one. This song is cool but some vintage Ceelo flowing would send it over the top…

NICE Cee Lo… If the album sounds like this, mixed with some flows… COT DAMN!!! Still waiting for the Goodie Mob reunion album.

Cool track, its good to see the man branching out, experimenting and showing that he’s a man of many ranges and arguably one of the most versatile artists to ever come near a micraphone…. But Ive been a cee lo fan ever since the very first goodie mob and Im dying to see him get back to his roots. Still Standing and Cee Lo Green is the soul machine are 2 of the most bumped albums in my ipod to this day and Im so hopeful to hear him return to that style of music… that blend of hip hop and soul beautifuly intertwining together that it frustrates the hell out of me! As much as I hate to say it Lo…. I cant give a gnarls barkley album more than one listen. I appreciate the hell out of the talent behind those albums… but my ears just keep wanting to go straight back to the soul machine style of music!

So please, somebody out there…. somebody who comes in close physical contact with Mr Green, would you grab him by the neck and shake him like a british nanny and tell him from me, please make another old school cee lo green album! and when you tour australia please rock some old cee lo track and not just the pop shit :)

Ok im done with my rant, I just had to get that out of my system lol.

This one was actually produced by up-and-comer Thomas Brenneck of the Dap-Kings, Budos Band and features the Menahan Street Band, which is the house band for his label Dunham Records.

The beat is drummer Homer Steinweiss from the Dap-Kings and Menahan Street Band. All of the instrumental tracks were recorded in Brooklyn by the Menahan Street Band. They were the guys that Jay-Z sampled for Roc Boys.
