Our favorite avant-guarde hip-hop outfit, Anti-Pop Consortium, are BACK! Comprised of M. Sayyid, High Priest, Beans, and Earl Blaize, this crew of rappers/producers continue to push the boundaries of electronic music and hip-hop, even after a 7 year hiatus. Anti-pop, newly re-united last year, turn the art of beat making into an organic experience of glitch-lazer-drum-string-scratch-blip-boom madness, over which they layer smart, fast, rich vocal raps. I saw them open for DJ Shadow at the Fillmore in SF and it was a really lackluster show. Beans was on some turn his back to the crowd, Miles type shit. I think they broke up (the last time) shortly thereafter.

i am sooo excited that they are putting out a new album...the mega-mix is sounding nasty and i can't wait to hear it in all its glory. i am thinking this will already be top 5 of the year based on what i heard. ya heard??

The first two tracks are alright but "Born Electric" sounds like it belongs on the Mortal Kombat movie soundtrack. Seriously try and listen to that with a straight face.
