Back in December we alerted you to a new film project from our friends Jason Goldwatch and the DECON gang called A Million In the Morning. The film is described as a documentary about sleep and the lack thereof and stars Vice Magazine founder Gavin McInnes. The setting is Time Square, New York City, where a plexiglass room has been erected to house the eight contestants pitted against each other for 121 hours of consecutive movie watching. The prize, an esteemed position in the Guinness Book of World Records and $10,000. The result is a wild ride of comedy, self examination, psychedelia, and overall weirdness.
Directed and edited by Decon’s Jason Goldwatch, A Million In The Morning features music from The Death Set, RJD2, El-P, DJ Honda, Bionik, & Wax Tailor plus an original theme song created by Jay Electronica. “Staying awake for 5 days is like watching a violent car accident on mushrooms…You try to look away, but you don’t have eyeballs anymore…" says Goldwatch, whose directorial credits include projects with the likes of Busta Rhymes, Jay Electronica, Pharrell, Kanye West & Dilated Peoples among others. “ You can find a short snippet of the all new Jay Electronica song, "A Million In The Morning" (the title track) at the end of the trailer above.
