50 Cent Is Coming To Late Night's With '50 Central'
BET just had their upfront presentation last week, which is TV-talk for showing off their next slate of programming for the new year. In a not-so-surprising move, one of those shows announced finds a Queens legend joining the ranks of Stephen Colbert + Trevor Noah. 50 Cent will be the host of his own 30-minute, late night variety show titled, 50 Central, which will run for 24 episodes.
For those familiar with 50’s humorous side (Curly Jackson, etc.) — the G-Unit head honcho plans on having hidden camera pranks, comedy sketches, musical performances and celebrity guests on the show. Produced by his own G-Unit Film & Television, in collaboration with Back Roads Entertainment, 50 Central is already getting responses from the Twitterverse.
“You’re gonna love this,” 50 said. “You know I get the green light. #IGETTHEBAG.”
Along with 50‘s new show, BET has also confirmed that hit VH1 shows, The Breaks + Hit The Floor will move over to BET. New shows produced by Kevin Hart (Divorce Saved My Marriage), Steve Harvey (Mancave), Wanda Sykes (Face Value) and Chris Rock (The Rundown with Robin Thede).
Debra Lee, BET’s chief executive officer, spoke on how these moves will take the #BlackStarPower channel to new levels. “BET’s global influence is stronger than ever and we are continuing to expand beyond the television screen to impact our audience — and the world — across multiple platforms,” Lee said.
