Watch SZA Perform "Normal Girl" on 'Later with Jools Holland'
The TDE singer takes a night off from touring to shine on cross-pond airwaves
A busy schedule calls for at least a moment to step off the stage. In SZA‘s case, it was off one stage and onto another.
Last night, as she enjoyed a brief stop on tour with Bryson Tiller, instead of doing the logical thing and diving into a rejuvenating self-care ritual, the TDE singer went for broke, gracing the stage of BBC 2’s Later with Jools Holland to perform a tender live take of he Ctrl album cut “Normal Girl.” Which is available for you to see down above. She joined King Krule, Grizzly Bear, Wolf Alice, RL Boyce and Paul Heaton as the evening’s performers.
The subject of copious recalibrations since its June release, Ctrl went gold a few weeks back, and has become sonic centerpiece to the most recent season of Issa Rae’s smash series, Insecure, with the singer penning a new original, “Quicksand,” for the show’s second season soundtrack.
