The world of Marvel is colliding with hip-hop.

For years, Marvel has been releasing hip-hop variants of comic book covers, by placing their iconic heroes and villains on the covers of classic hip-hop albums. Now they've signed a deal with UMe's Urban Legend label to release these records on vinyl.

Urban Legend will release three LP's on vinyl with the variant covers: Iron Man battling Maestro, which is recreating GZA's Liquid Swords; Iron Man standing behind a cracked glass for 50 Cent's debut Get Rich or Die Tryin'; and the Punisher on LL Cool J's Mama Said Knock You Out. They will be released on December 7th.

In a press release, President of UMe Bruce Resnikoff said:

Marvel comics have always occupied a special place in the hearts of hip-hop fans–both media continue to serve as a source of expression, escapism, and inspiration for generations of super fans around the world.
