Suge Knight Says YG Is His Favorite New Rapper, Calls Cardi B "The Most Incredible Artist"

In a recent interview from behind bars, Suge Knight spoke on the state of hip-hop.

Controversial mogul Suge Knight spoke on the current state of hip-hop and his crop of new favorites in a new interview from behind bars.

Knight, who was recently sentenced to 28 years in prison for manslaughter, spoke to The Blast from jail to discuss his case, but also ended up sharing his views on today's music industry.

“YG is one of my favorite rappers," he said in the audio interview.

"I think Cardi B is the most incredible artist that has been in the industry in a long time. She a natural born star and people can relate to her.”

“Rap music is a young man’s sport. It’s for the young people," he said, adding, "When a rapper gets to be a certain age, if he’s still rapping the same way, that means he’s telling a lie.”

He continued, saying he thinks the new generation of rappers is "great."

"I think whatever they feel, they should have a right to express themselves. I wish all those dudes nothing but success. All the artists out there, I wish them the best. I wish they go 1000 times better than us.”

Earlier this month, Knight pleaded no contest to manslaughter in connection to the death of Terry Carter during a hit-and-run incident on the set of the movie Straight Outta Compton.
