Stones Throw Records Officially Open Their Own Studio in LA

For more than two decades, Stones Throw Records has laced the world with innovation upon innovation, leaving a singular mark on hip-hop and "beat scene" culture alike by way of J Dilla, Madlib, MF DOOM and their pioneering lineage. And so, it seems hard to imagine that throughout those years of game-changing the legendary LA label has only just opened the doors on its very own studio space. In the biographical documentary on the label, Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton, founder and supreme curator, Peanut Butter Wolf, revealed Madlib's "bomb-shelter" method. But now, like the label itself, the studio has risen from the underground.

Stones Throw Studios, which has technically been up and running since the middle of last year, is now the label's home production base. According to their site, a few of the label's 2016 releases were worked on or completed at the new Highland Park facility. And it appears that it's only the beginning of a bright new chapter in the Stones Throw saga.

For studio specs and photos (and all the nerdy stuff) head over to Stones Throw's site to peep the new digs.
