Roy Ayers Links With Seun Kuti + Egypt '80 For First Time Performance At Central Park
Sunday, July 16, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Central Park, you can catch Roy Ayers and Fela Kuti’s son, Seun Kuti, performing for free for the first time.
Egypt ’80, the band originally created by Fela Kuti, will be led by his son, Seun Kuti, and frequent Fela collaborator Roy Ayers, for a SummerStage performance at New York City’s Central Park.
The truly special moment will be accentuated by the inclusion of performances from Underground System and the legendary DJ Rich Medina. The performance of Egypt ’80 and Roy Ayers marks the first time ever these two have done their thing to pay homage to Fela Kuti.
This is a must-not-miss event for the summer. Bring your blanket, your basket full of good eats and get their early to experience this once-in-a-lifetime moment in music.
