Prince’s Estate Signed A Licensing Deal With Sony Music To Release Songs From “The Vault”

More unheard music from Prince is coming out by way of a new contract with Sony Music.

Prince continues to dominate headlines as a new contract put together by his estate and Sony Records could end up with unheard music from The Vault being digested by the public. Yes, you read that correct, according to Variety, the late singer’s estate snagged a licensing deal with the record label.

There’s no official statement from Sony Music regarding the contract or terms, but the deal reportedly includes access to potentially “thousands of unreleased songs.” The news comes nearly a full year after a court rescinded Universal Records’ $31 million contract with the estate.

Sony’s deal with the estate is substantially less than Universal’s, according to Variety.
