Here's Our First-Take Listen To Childish Gambino's "Awaken, My Love!" Album
By now you've had roughly three months to absorb Childish Gambino's P-Funk odyssey, "Awaken, My Love!" in its exclusively digital form. It's been tough on some, but good to most, and if we've learned anything, it's that the warmth of 70s soul and funk is needed now as much as ever. With that in mind, Bino (or the artist sometimes known as Donald Glover) has devised a unique take on physical distribution of his third studio album. Namely, the premise of "virtual reality vinyl," with which you are able to not only experience the album from between the dust and grooves, but also watch his psychedelic Joshua Tree performance of the album from the first row, all while consuming the intoxicant of your preference from the couch of your preference.
The vinyl edition of "Awaken, My Love!" will arrive as a heavy-set 180-gram vinyl with a glow-in-the-dark cover, 3D glasses and, of course, a copy the aforementioned performance.
