Watch Jorja Smith Perform A 3-Song ‘Lost & Found’ Set For NPR’s ‘Tiny Desk’ Series
Walsall’s own Jorja Smith rolled in for her Tiny Desk concert with NPR ready and in the mood to perform a tranquil, otherworldly performance.
Jorja Smith is out in the world and enjoying all the electric energies that come with performing songs from a new album. With Lost & Found out and being praised by publications and the people alike, the Walsall original has stopped by the NPR offices for her first (of many) Tiny Desk concert.
According to the team over there, the weather was gloomy as Jorja made her way into the building, but the overcast didn’t threaten to stop Smith’s shine. As she worked her way through, spreading that silky candace all over the place, Jorja and her supporting band showed why they are going to be in this game for quite awhile. Beginning with “On My Mind,” the stripped-down version showcased Jorja’s range and rich vocal textures as she worked her way up to that very familiar high note.
“Teenage Fantasy” and “Blue Lights” are now considered classics, as the former she wrote while still just a teen and the latter put her on our radar in 2016 — Jorja carries a quiet, yet strong star power that had the NPR office in awe as you will be too. Free of featured acts, Lost & Found allowed Jorja to make a boldface proclamation of her independence and star power.
