Iman Omari‘s stepping into the spotlight in 2017.

Following years of sculpting cosmic cuts for Cavalier, Quelle Chris, Denmark Vessey and the gamut of underground champions, the LA-based producer will release his full-length IHY album next week as follow-up to 2015’s stellar High-Loops & Higher-Loops beat tape.

But where its predecessor focused on his behind-the-boards brilliance (where minimalism and swing-heavy drums are bedrock to warm synth suites and dusty loops) IHY, based on its lead singles “Move Too Fast” and “So Real,” will showcase Omari as a seductive songwriter. And with his latest, “Kama Sutra,” the case is only cemented, crooning through layers of warbled effects over bright brass and deep synth textures.
