EarthGang Signs To J. Cole’s Dreamville Records, Drops New EP Called ‘Rags’
The popular Atlanta duo, EarthGang, has a lot to celebrate as they’ve gone from the indie underground to J. Cole’s label, Dreamville Records.
EarthGang, a genius group that’s a part of the Spillage Village crew, has joined J. Cole’s Dreamville Records in a blockbuster deal. For those who aren’t in the know, this Atlanta duo is making some of the purest, rawest, most uncut hip-hop in the game. By associating themselves with Dreamville Records, they join their partner-in-rhyme and recent Dreamville signee, J.I.D. as a member.
Hours after announcing the deal, EarthGang released a five song EP called Rags. “It’s a part of this three-part EP series,” they explained to Pigeons & Planes in an interview. “Rags, Robots, and Royalty. All these things are the train stops to Mirrorland, which is our album coming out whenever the fuck we put it out.”
Rags “represents being from the bottom,” they said, explaining the make-up of the recently released EP. “At the bottom, there’s nothing but pure potential. Zero is pure potential.” The project features appearances from their new labelmate, J.I.D., Childish Major, Mick Jenkins.
Listen to Rags below, cop on Apple Music and make sure to play this on repeat throughout the weekend:
