Bootsy Collins Get Intergalatically Funky On “Hot Saucer” ft. Musiq Soulchild & Big Daddy Kane

The iconic Funkadelic bassist, Bootsy Collins, brings his brand of dusty, distorted bass to the masses in this new song, “Hot Saucer,” from his 14th solo album.

Bootsy Collins, a man with a deeply funky bass and no peer, has been releasing songs from his 14th solo album, World Wide Funk, and expanding the members of his Rubber Band at the same time. Partnering up with two fellow musical legends in singer-songwriter Musiq Soulchild and rapper Big Daddy Kane for the new single “Hot Saucer,” these three cook up a sexy-time romp that is worth the replay.

The food-as-sex metaphors are heavy on this one, as nods to cheesy grits and collard greens play as a double entendre that would make a nun blush. An electric guitar solo manages to make the song climax, but at the end of the day, it is Bootsy Collins who remains the star of the show. “Hot Saucer” is the third single from Collins’ World Wide Funk, which followed the rap-funk induced “Ladies’ Nite,” and the cosmic slow-groove, “Worth My While”.

Listen to the cut above and keep an eye out for World Wide Funk when it hits everywhere on Oct. 27.
