To all of those who don't know the roots have always worked with up and coming artists, saying some ish like quest you should do some solo and up and coming artist type jazz is really just showing you dont know whats good...

the roots support many many many artists
and us on the freestyle board wouldnt have had this spot without them either

So for the black thought having a big ego
if you rocked as many crowds as he has (the roots are ALWAYS on tour)
and you saw how your music connected continents without selling out as a giant commercial on legs
then you would feel you earned the right to speak about yourself in a big way

not that i feel lines like im in your girl with her high heels up
cause that doesnt make dude rare that makes him everyday

personally
the boards being slept on
i say---keep up the good work
but come see what us concious cats on your freestyle board are putting out
and then witness a real transformation

seen

I like the drums yo.But I also dig how unconventional these cats get. They always got like a new way of expressing they do.They make you want to listen even when they is talking about nothing. On some Boondocks tip.Peace.

Response to beastofaman: Why should Black thought go solo. Are you calling him a Kanye West. He has never said in any interview that he's The best. Check your stats...He is a humble man who puts out great music and something that real people who love hip hop can listen to. Questlove and Black thought go way back to high school. their chemistry is undeniable. Black thought has never said he's better than the group. There is no roots without the crew. As far as Quest? doing solo projects, he has. with erykah badu and many other artists...so, check your stats and get educated. OnE LoVe . Roots keep making that music that inspires and makes me excited everytime i buy your album

THis track is aiight sounds like the same ish. I have not listened to the roots since Things Fall Apart and do not plan to. I think the last album was some country bS that made me throw up. Heard it in Florida in Revolution back in 05 or 06 and was mad disappointing

Black THought is a gifted lyricist with a Blown Ego. The Band makes the Group not Thought. Quest you should venture and do solo joints with up and coming artist.

If it wasn't for the band it would all be Yang and no Ying. Feel me.

Hey Thought why don't you do a Solo album?

Fo those that don't understand that track, it is probably due to the fact that you yourself have been inspired by the wack production of the last 7 years young bucks. Any mcee that had skills could chew this track up cause its ill, but Thought's surpassing skills takes it to a level where its not just a regular freesyle track. I could care less that the video didn't make sense because my eyes was closed listening to the track the whole time...sorry video producer.

sayin nigga 100+ times, talkin bout how you 'bagged=up', and how you fuck other dude's gurls dont make you hard.. Rising Down is a piece of shit.. i love the roots to death, but ever since they hit Def Jam, its been all downhill.. Black Thought is the most underated emcee of all time! but on this LP, and this joint especially.. disappointment.. that is, of course, since they have set my standards way higher too high.

Really? Did u guys use a casio for the synth? lmao...This song and Get busy are wack tracks, love questos drums but cmon wheres the originality in the music? These two songs, singles, are terrible, they sound like Web throwbacks from The Tipping Point...lol...Id like to hear the Roots come back to that organic and real shit they came with, O, DYWM, TFA, forever...they must be losing the hunger, or musical inspiration...Yo questo when is Pharell Williams And The Yessirs comin out? Do we need to sign a petition? that album is ridiculous, questo and james poyser are just true magic kid...Whats up with another soulaquarian lp?
