UK producer Kevin Martin, as The Bug, tries something interesting on London Zoo, taking the charged syncopated boasts of Dancehall reggae, and mixing them with vitriolic grime, giving a suitable back drop for the chanters and singers of tales of urban London life. Although some good ideas and blends can be found here, the collection falls apart ultimately.

About thirty miles from Detroit, is Ann Arbor, a green-grassed college town from which emcee Buff1 hails. But Buff1 isn’t overshadowed by his neighboring contemporaries, nor is he trying to be them. There’s a lot to be said for weirdness, particularly in today’s increasingly homogenized world.
