Steve McQueen Flips ‘Set It Off’ On Its Head With New Crime Thriller Film ‘Widows’
Oscar-winning director Steve McQueen’s explosive trailer for Widows finds four women mobbing up for a heist unlike anyone has ever seen.

Making the rounds this afternoon, McQueen presents Widows, his next film, a thriller which stars Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki, and Cynthia Erivo. The modern-day crime epic was co-written by McQueen and Gone Girl’s Gillian Flynn and unites a group of four women left with debt from their dead husbands’ criminal activities to plan a heist of their own.
Judging by the first look at Widows, these ladies certainly have the balls to get the job done. Based on the book by Lynda La Plante, the four women conspire to forge a future on their own terms. Widows is a pretty hefty with Brian Tyree Henry, Daniel Kaluuya, Liam Neeson, Colin Farrell, Robert Duvall, and more listed to co-star.
