Stacey Dash has announced that she is considering a run for Congress after receiving support from fans.

"A number of people online and off have suggested I run for political office," Dash wrote on Twitter. "I wanted to see what my online community thinks of this idea as I mull the possibilities. Thoughts?"

"In response to numerous calls for me to run for office, I am considering a run for Congress," she continued. "Would love to know what my fans and friends think. Dash to D.C."

Dash served as a contributor for "cultural analysis and commentary" on Fox News from 2014 to 2016. During her time there the Clueless actress made a number of controversial remarks, including one where she accused then-President Barack Obama of not giving "a s**t" about terrorism.

Recently, Dash has distanced herself from a film her cousin Dame Dash has been promoting. Titled Honor Up, the film is executive produced by Kanye West, and features both Dame and Stacey, Raekwon, Sheek Louch, Styles P, and Jadakiss.

However, Stacey has voiced her displeasure with the film, taking to Twitter in late December to write:

"I'm sorry that my cousin Damon Dash is using our family relationship to advertise his movie. I have no written contract with him or Kanye West's company (who I have had no dealings with at all). No one is authorized to use my name or photograph for Honor Up."
