Can Mahershala Ali save True Detective?
It's been three years since HBO aired the polarizing (we're being kind) True Detective season two. The show is returning to HBO at the top of 2019.
And the show is going to have a very different look.

Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali will star in the next season of True Detective. And on Sunday, August 26th, HBO aired the first trailer for the new season of the show. In this season, Ali plays Wayne Hays, an Arkansas detective who is haunted by an old unsolved case. During the trailer we see Hays at various points in his life.
At one point in the trailer you hear Ali's voice say:
My job…. there’s no certainty. This peace… is more haunting than anything. I want to know the whole story.
