Lakeith Stanfield Signs On To Join ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ Sequel
Those checks keep clearing for Lakeith Stanfield, who will bring his talents to The Girl in the Spider’s Web.
Lakeith Stanfield is a multi-talented, highly sought after actor who has shined in everything he’s done since breaking out on FX’s Atlanta. This has impressed the Hollywood machine so much that the star-on-the-rise has joined the cast of Sony’s The Girl in the Spider’s Web, which is a sequel to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
Starring Claire Foy as Lisbeth Salander, Sylvia Hoeks as Salander’s twin sister and Claes Bang as the villain — Stanfield’s role as yet to be announced, but we’re expecting no less than brilliance from the breakout performer. Production will begin this month in Berlin and Stockholm with the final project hitting theaters on Oct. 19 of this year.
Directed by Fede Alvarez (Don’t Breathe), Spider’s Web is based on author David Lagercrantz’s bestseller.
Stanfield, who stole the show as Darius in Atlanta and the box office smash Get Out, also has Sorry to Bother You and Come Sunday on the way, premiering at Sundance in 2019.
