Kenneka Jenkins' Mother Renews Protests Against Hotel Where Daughter Was Found In Freezer

Tereasa Martin, Kenneka Jenkins' mother, has renewed her protests against the Crowne Plaza Chicago O'Hare Hotel.

The protests have been occurring for the past two days according to videos Martin has put on her Facebook account. In a series of Facebook live videos, Martin has led chants of "tear it down" and "justice for Kenneka" that were directed at the hotel. She also called for authorities to "release the tape," referring to hotel surveillance footage that showed Jenkins staggering around the hotel before making her way into the kitchen where the freezer was.

Martin also called for the FBI to either join or take over the local police investigation surrounding her daughter's death. The police still have not announced a cause of death, a suspect or a motive since Jenkins' body was discovered in the hotel freezer three weeks ago.

The renewed protest follows the public funeral that took place for Jenkins this past weekend, in which over a thousand people attended, and less than a week after Martin called for the protest to stop after she claimed that an activist close to the demonstrations was profiting off her daughter's death.

"I found out two days ago that there were funds collected for the protests. I thought people were doing it out of the kindness of their heart but I guess everybody has an agenda," Martin initially said. "…You know what, this protest is over…So I'm ending y'all's agendas that's not righteous towards my child."
