With the success of Black Panther and its soundtrack, Kendrick Lamar certainly could legitimately land a cameo in the film’s inevitable sequel.

It’s no secret that Kendrick Lamar and TDE are getting into the movie business. After blowing down the box office and charting no. 1 on the Billboard list, Black Panther has inspired a nation and fueled Marvel to begin sequel discussions promptly. Kevin Feige is already suggesting that Ryan Coogler will be back to helm the next installment of the series, but Lamar has made it known that he wants to be a part of it as well.

Speaking with BBC Radio 1’s Clara Amfo on Thursday, Lamar was even asked about the serious possibility of landing a cameo in Black Panther 2. “Come on, I got to now,” K. Dot said in reply. When asked to name his ideal role, Lamar said that he would be open to a Killmonger-esque character that’s a “villain, but loved and misunderstood.” He would probably be good as Achebe or Nkosi.

Kung-Fu Kenny even spoke about working on the “timeless” soundtrack, saying that it was a privilege. “I think [the movie is] something that not only stands within this moment, but stands within time.” “These words, these ideas, these albums, they just come from a single thought,” he explained. “This thought can be made in my bedroom, on the toilet, anywhere I’m driving, and then next thing I know, six months later, they can be all around the world and people are sharing the same thought in that same moment. That’s the greatest part.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Amfo and Lamar talk Grammys, the Brits, the future of his Kung-Fu Kenny character and more. Listen to their chat here and let us know who you think what villain Kendrick Lamar could play in Black Panther 2 in the comments below.
