Aside from getting ready to start shooting the follow-up to his directorial film debut Get Out, Jordan Peele has also directed a recent photo shoot for W Magazine.

Titled "Noir Town," the fashion photo shoot is directed by Peele and stars Janelle Monaé as a private detective who finds herself in a surreal situation while searching for a murderer. The shoot was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock films such as Vertigo and Psycho, and features female photographer Collier Schorr.

"I wanted to create a Hitchcock moment that doesn't really exist in a Hitchcock film," Peele said of the shoot. "I didn't want the Hitchcock heroine. I wanted the Hitchcock hero. That way, we can reclaim this movie that we never got to see. The fear of gender and race robs us of beautiful pieces of film…Putting Janelle in that character is all you need to create my new favorite movie."

Peele and Monaé's "Noir Town" is a part of a special project from W Magazine, where the publication asked Peele and two other directors "to create fashion portfolios starring a strong, conversation-changing woman of their choice." You can view the rest of the photo shoot here.

Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) and Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name) are the other directors a part of the project, choosing Florence Welch and Rianne and Adwoa, respectively.

Peele recently revealed that he's getting started on his next film.

"My next film, I am currently writing it and I’ll direct for Universal this year, I’m just trying to entertain myself again," Peele said to the Hollywood Reporter. "One thing I know is that this is genre; and playing around with the thriller, horror, action, fun genre of intrigue is my favorite. That’s my sweet spot. So I think tonally it should resemble Get Out. That said, I want to make a completely different movie. I want to address something different than race in the next one."
