Jamie Foxx Stars As Little John In Otto Bathurst’s ‘Robin Hood’ Teaser Trailer
Taron Egerton stars as a masked vigilante who slings arrows in the dead of the night. Jamie Foxx is down for the ride, and we have the first look for you.
Jamie Foxx and Taron Egerton star as the fearsome twosome of Little John and Robin Hood in director Otto Bathurst’s Robin Hood feature film. Unlike previous incarnations of the “steal from the rich, give to the poor” trope, this Robin has athleticism, style, panache and a Matrix-like ability to contort his body in midair.
Adding onto this action-adventure romp is Eve Hewson (Bridge of Spies) as Maid Marion, Tim Michin (Californication) as Friar Tuck, and Ben Mendelsohn (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) playing the villainous, ruthless Sheriff of Nottingham. In the teaser, we fight out that Robin Hood is the story of “a war-hardened Crusader and his Moorish commander” rising up against a corrupt English crown.
“You don’t become a legend for 800 years if you’ve just stolen a few bags of money from rich people to give to the poor,” Bathurst told Entertainment Weekly. “In my mind, Robin Hood was this sort of seriously militarized anarchist revolutionary, a freedom thinker and a truth seeker. And the more I got into the story, it just became startling how utterly relevant it is to what’s going on in society now.”

Robin Hood will open in theaters on Nov. 21.
