Issa Rae & Author Angela Flournoy Teaming Up for New HBO Drama

Issa Rae is teaming up with acclaimed author Angela Flournoy

Issa Rae'sInsecure has been one of the best comedies in recent memory. It's time to see what the young star can do with a drama.

According to Deadline, Issa Rae is partnering up with HBO on a new drama. Rae will executive produce the drama, which will feature an African family in LA during the '90s. The two heads of the houses are a real estate agent and a member of LAPD anti-gang task force.

What makes this project particularly exciting is that it will be written by author Angela Flournoy, who wrote The Turner House, one of the best novels of 2015.

When speaking on the new project, Rae said:

"Im so thrilled to be working with Angela...I was a huge fan of The Turner House and we feel so lucky to bring her beautiful storytelling to HBO,
