The “Foxy” Pam Grier Is Developing Her Own Biopic For The Big Screen
The incredible life and times of Pam Grier will be brought to theaters nationwide and has already begun casting.
Pam Grier is a legend and has been one since forever. Her style, fierceness, effortless cool and dynamo personality has always been bigger than life. And now, her “foxy” life story will be shared with a new generation on the big screen. Reportedly a biopic is in the works and already has begun casting.
Tentatively titled Pam, the biographical film has reportedly cast Jay Pharoah as Richard Pryor. For those not up on your history lessons, the greatest comedian ever was in a romantic relationship with Grier during the ‘70s. In her book, Foxy: My Life in Three Acts, the star revealed that her sexual relationship with the comedian caused cocaine to enter into her system.
Grier is welcoming of Pharoah’s casting, saying he was the perfect person to play him. “I watched him and heard his voice and closed my eyes and said, ‘It’s Richard,’” she told Deadline in a Jan. 16 interview. Aside from her union with Pryor, Grier has continue to be an icon for her roles in Foxy Brown, Coffy, Sheba Baby and Jackie Brown.
Pam does not have a release date in mind, but we shal stay with as this continues to develop.
