Chance the Rapper Announces New Awards Show, ‘The Twilight Awards’

After holding his SocialWorks summit last Friday (Sept. 1) — Chance the Rapper announced the first ever educationally-themed awards ceremony, ‘The Twilight Awards’.

Yes, Chance the Rapper has done another good deed for his hometown of Chicago. And yes, there is no way to escape the overwhelming positive vibes that flows forth from his actions. After holding his SocialWorks summit last Friday, Sept. 1, on Chicago’s Southside — Lil’ Chano from the 79th announced an educationally-themed awards ceremony.

Titled “The Twilight Awards,” Chance said that the event will honor “teachers, parents, principals, and students that convey leadership,” according to Pitchfork. Hosted by James Corden, “The Twilight Awards” will take place in June 2018. Add to the mix that Chance raised $2.2 million for 20 local public schools, his SocialWorks will gave away 30,000 backpacks to student at last month’s Bud Billiken Parade.
