Here Is The Must-See Trailer For Boots Riley’s Electrifying Film “Sorry to Bother You”
Sorry to Bother You was one of the most buzzed-about titles at Sundance this year, and now, we finally get to see the Lakeith Stanfield-led trailer in action.
As promised, Annapurna Pictures has finally released the long-awaited trailer for Boots Riley’s directorial debut, Sorry to Bother You. Starring Lakeith Stanfield, Tessa Thompson and Armie Hammer, this film was one of the most buzzed-about projects at Sundance this year, and we are still kicking ourselves that we weren’t able to connect with The Coup lead vocalist for a set visit when the film was in production.
Sorry to Bother You tells the story of Cassius Green (Stanfield), a black telemarketer who puts on a white accent in order to be more successful at his job. Discovering this magical key to professional success comes with its own set of dangers and while Cassius is thrusted into a macabre universe, Sorry to Bother You shows that Boots Riley is a creative force to be reckoned with.
IndieWire’s Eric Kohn believed after seeing Sorry that the film “fits with the zeitgeist” of Jordan Peele’s Get Out and “leaves you with the impression that even the most ridiculous moments contain some tidbits of truth.” It is a project that has been personally on my radar since we first got word of it back in June of last year.
With that said, don’t let us hold you up from what is already being called the “WTF Movie of the Year” (and that’s a good thing, trust us!).
Press play on the Sorry to Bother You trailer below and keep an eye out as Annapurna will release the film nationwide on July 6.
