Black Panther is great; are you surprised?

On Tuesday morning, the embargo for Black Panther was officially lifted. Critics could start releasing their reviews for the Ryan Coogler-directed film.

As of Tuesday, there have been 51 reviews published. All have been positive. The movie is currently sitting with a perfect 100 percent Rotten Tomatoes score.

Here are some of the things that notable critics have already written about the movie.

Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times wrote:

"We didn't know we'd been yearning for it until it arrived, but now that it's here it's unmistakable that the wait for a film like "Black Panther" has been way longer than it should have been."

For Variety, Peter Debruge wrote:

"Black Panther celebrates its hero's heritage while delivering one of Marvel's most all-around appealing standalone installments to date."

And Peter Travers, who gave the album four stars in Rolling Stone, wrote:

"Say this about Black Panther, which raises movie escapism very near the level of art: You've never seen anything like it in your life."

Black Panther comes out on February 16th (chances are you know this already.)  We're calling it now: It's going to break so many box office records.
