Erykah Badu And The Roots Hit Radio City Music Hall!Friday, May 9th, The Roots opened for Erykah Badu at NYC's legendary (truly!) Radio City Music Hall. The sold out show seated close to 6000 hip-hop lovers, and The Roots and Erykah Badu made sure everyone got their money's worth! OKP had photographer Terrence Jennings on hand to shoot some flicks from the night's performances. See our flickr gallery below. After, peep some photos from the NYC after-party at Sutra. Don't forget, The Roots are out on tour with Erykah Badu this spring- check the TOUR DATES and see when they'll be in a city near you! After the show, The Roots and co. headed to their fave NYC hot-spot Sutra to celebrate the night. ?uesto jumped on the 1s and 2s, and Black Thought even took the mic to murder a short set of freestyles. Peep the flicks below shot by gingerlynn which capture a few key moments at RCMH and the energetic vibe of the after-party.

The concert was great in VA! The Roots were my fav part b/c they had me on my feet rockin the whole time. Erykah is a phenomenal artist. I really wasn't expecting her to be so dry with the crowd like Osay mentioned. Other than that I loved it.

1.) The Roots were too short...glad I'm seeing them at The Roots Picnic though. Really liked the guitar. Came to see Erykah.
2.) She did sing "Me" and "Soldier" and actually went in order of her songs on the new album like up to "Master Teacher." She just didn't do the last three. Made up for it with the treat of "Green Eyes" and an amazing "Orange Moon." 3.) Love her, show was fantabulous! 4.) Pissed though, because we paid for the most expensive tickets and ended up in the Mezz, when originally it was supposed to be Orchestra. 5.) The after party was YESSSSSSSSSS! High fived Questlove for playing Bmore club music and smiled at Mos Def in all his shortness, awkwardness, and beauty. Very cool night. Oh, New York, NY. 6

The Roots killed it as always but their set was way too short. Espcecially with the long "pause" before Ms Badu made her debut. She sure sang her heart out and her voice is tremendous but I'd be lying to say I like more then 4 tracks off the new album. Me, Soilder, Telephone and Honey do it for me. *The Healer is ok too.
