Majik Most

Equilibrium was not a group that got massive attention, but for those who were aware of the act in the late 90s, they were not to be messed with. Majik Most was one of the pieces to the Equilibrium puzzle, and while the other members of the group are here to help him, he is taking care of business on his own terms.
If wicked and hilarious lyrics, combined with a flow of confidence and an attitude that shows a bit of passion toward the music is something you not only look for in music but also aspire to master as a rapper, Majik Most is your man. While sequenced as a mixtape,
Molesting Hip-Hop can easily pass as a standard album, with a mixture of brand new songs, freestyles, and interludes. What I enjoy is Majik's willingness to knock himself down a few notches while sustaining the hip-hop bravado when necessary. There's a lot of talk about fake rappers, fake people, fake thugs, and fake gangstas, along with a lot of T&A (both musically and in the CD booklet), but nothing is done with shock value. Instead it's a very spirited album that celebrates hip hop the way he envisions it, and it's not a bad place to be.
The bonus DVD shows him living a life not unlike most of his fans. Yet the presentation of the music, along with Celph Titled's brilliant production throughout, surpasses many of his competitors, both indie and major label. That is, if anyone dares step up. If this is a mere mixtape, one can only imagine what Majik Most is capable of doing for a proper album.
