Jackson, Mississippi's poster child, David Banner, is back with his third solo offering, Certified. As usual, Banner produces most of his release, although Lil Jon, Jazzy Pha, and Mr. Collipark also contribute. And while his outspoken nature as of late regarding the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina (he's donated tons of time and money to helping the victims) is sure to help his public image, Certified suffers from the same dilemma that plagues all of Banner's releases: conflicting ideologies that prevent any sort of coherence or cohesion.

Raw Fusion, a hip hop/electronica/drum & bass club in Stockholm, has gathered the songs that have become staples of the club's nightly playlist. The mix, usually reserved for the club's owners, DJs and patrons, is now available worldwide and hopes to introduce listeners to the eclectic club's style. For those of you who get antsy outside of your American hip-hop comfort zone, fear not; a lot of Swedish music comes from Detroit.

Eiko Peck, the bassist for hip-hop-funk-soul-jazz band Boomclique, is ready to show and prove his many talents that fall outside the low-end realm. With his debut album, Not By Words Alone, dropped under the moniker Elcodeck (a combination of mispronunciations of Peck’s real name), Peck not only plays bass, but he is also on the keys and most importantly on the m-i-c.
