As you may or may not know, June is "Black Music Month" as dubbed by G dubbya . To celebrate, Apple has put together a series of free concerts at their retail stores from NY to Cali. Twenty-two artists in total will take part, it all kicked off this past sunday and will run untill the end of the month. Some of the artist performing will be Talib Kweli, Wyclef Jean, Dwele, Janelle Monae, Killer Mike, David Banner, MC Lyte, Anthony David, and more. Here is the official video for "I'm Cheatin" by Dwele his first single off of his third LP Sketches Of A Man. The album is out June 24th on Koch Records.
Well, the third video (and the first to be shot) for Kanye & Dwele's "Flashing Lights" has now surfaced. This is the one teased early on by a still photo posted over on Kanye's blog back in January, followed by the one that got leaked over the weekend . We all know that 'Ye ultimately went with the shorter version staring Rita G. After seeing all three, seems like most everyone agrees that is the best of the bunch.
Kanye was really going for something with these (keyword being "something"). Whether you like them or not, you have to give it up to the man for, as always, being hyper ambitious with his expressions. I for one enjoy the whole show.
Remember when we all first saw the official video for "Flashing Lights" and we thought it was some sort of teaser which would lead to something more to be revealed soon thereafter? Well, that never happened. Aslo at that time we heard from inside sources that there were two other videos shot for the song. Apparently the above is one of them. The video is directed by Bill Pollock and stars model Charlotte Carter-Allen. Shout out to OcToExtraordinaire on the details.
Dwele's new album Sketches Of A Man drops June 24th on RT Music Group/Koch Records. We're all very anxious to hear what his third solo album will sound like now that he is finally getting much more well deserved attention.
