On the tails of his #1 album releaseUntitled, and straight outta his lyrical notebook, Nas takes his anti-Fox campaign to the streets. Joining forces with ColorOfChange.org and MoveOn.org, Nas protested FOX media today in New York City to stop the "pattern of racist attacks against Black Americans", specifically Barack and Michelle Obama. Nas said: "FOX poisons the country with racist propaganda and tries to call it news." Read more after the jump, including Kanye's activism and Ye, N.E.R.D. and Wyclef's political support.
Obama-mania is spreading like wildfire these days- pervading the
music industry as new songs about Obams pop up practically everyday.
Last week we hit you with the hot afro-beat/rock joint "AfrObama" from Cody ChesnuTT, and today we've got a hilarious parody video of "Barack Da Vote" by Keith From Up Da Block (holler Philly!). Keith's take on the classic George Kranz "Din Daa Daa" (which you know from The Roots
re-make on The Tipping Point) delivers a real message- Vote Obama!
However the vid is couched in humor, with references to Breakin' as the
Presidential hopefuls "B-Rock," "Illary," and "McPain" battle it out
B-boy style on the breakin' floor. With Obama currently gracing the
cover of Rolling Stone for the second time we can only hope that his
politics remain in as good taste as his musical selections (Stevie Wonder and Jay Z-
this gives me hope!). After you watch "Barack Da Vote," check out the
video from The Today Show which delves a bit deeper into the
Rolling Stone issue. Unfortunately the homies at Today don't do their
research- and clearly don't listen to hip-hop- as they put up a photo
of Joe Budden and call him "Jay Z." Really?? Damn. Seriously? Vids after the click.
*EDITOR'S NOTE 6.27.08: They've now fixed the video to ACTUALLY feature a photo of Jay Z.

Check out the Homie Hyphen's blog for the 5 part video interview with topics ranging from: Rising Down and Obama to Al Green and the rumored sequel to Dave Chappelle's Block Party.
With Obama another step closer to making history, everyone seems to be coming out with their opinion on the matter. Nas of course has never been one to bite his tongue, so here is a preview of a new song of his addressing Barack Obama titled "Black President." It is rumored to be off of his upcoming mixtape with DJ Green Lantern "The Ni@@er Tape."
It's official... ok, almost official (Hil still needs to step out of the race), but Tuesday night Senator Barak Obama scored enough delegates to claim the Democratic Presidential nomination! Although Hillary has yet to make a statement or officially suspend her campaign, many of her supporters have switched their focus, now urging Obama to take her on as a running mate. Vote in this OKP poll and let us know who you think Obama should pick for VP. The Democratic National Commitee declared that Dems need to now turn their full attention to the general election, to reverse eight years of harmful Bush/McCain policies. This is an historical moment, as we have our first black American U.S. major party candidate for President of the United States!
We all know it's time for Hil to fall back and let Obama take the lead on this one... it seems everyone knows except Hil! The 80,000 who showed up for the rally in Oregon this weekend certainly knew. Idle Warship (Kweli + Res send the strong message to your girl via their song "Fall Back." Peep the new video, Executive Produced by our boy Tunji, which only punctuates the message even further.
