Diva Speak TV is back! Check out the first episode of season 2. Deev runs down topics from this summer as well as recent events. It goes without saying, your girl is hilarious and these episodes are well done. For more Diva perspective, check out her blog on the regular!
OKP Blogger extrordinare Amanda Diva is starting a new monthly series at NYC's SOB's called Spectrum Funk. The first one features Ms. Diva, Lydia Caesar, James Watts, and DJ Spinna. This live music series is decribed as a night of "dope music, dope talent and dope vibes," so if you will be in NYC tomorrow night make sure to stop by (doors open at 7, show at 9). Check her blog for more info and stay tuned for more episodes of DivaSpeakTV and OkayplayerTV hosted by the Deev coming soon.
Amanda Diva hosts this special edition of Vimby x Okayplayer where we give you an inside look at The Hors D'Oeuvres, The Roots' pre-picnic super-jam that went down in Philadelphia at the TLA on South Street on June 6th. Check out performance clips and interviews from the likes of: Santogold, Janelle Monáe, Bilal & The Randy Watson Experience (?uesto + James Poyser), and The Roots.
Click read more to check out the second piece featuring Patty Crash, Tu Phace, Dice Raw, and Bajah featuring the Dry Yai crew.
After a troubling post on her blog stating that she landed in the hospital, Amanda Diva is back with Episode 20 of Diva Speak TV. Tune in as she takes you into a week in-the-life of the ultra busy Deev. You won't believe her schedule while she recaps her hustles including trips to: Paid Dues NYC ft 9th Wonder & GZA, a salon opening where she interviews Rakim, hostessing The Hors D'Oeuvres, rehearsing for her show with Kidz In The Hall in NY, hostessing okayplayerTV at The Roots Picnic, public speaking, and more! YES, in that order. NO, I did not spoil everything. Watch and learn.
Bonus: Video of Amanda live at SOB's this past Tuesday for NYC's Eclectic Ride... after the jump.
Here are the final two sets of photos from VillageSlum and Okayplayer's Mel D. Cole. The first gallery consists of performance photos of The Roots only while the second stars Gnarls Barkley, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Deerhoof, The Cool Kids, and J*Davey. Once again, stay tuned for what will be an amazing gallery of portraits shot by Trevor Paulhus as well as video from okayplayerTV.
Here's the video for Estelle's third single, "No Substitute Lover," off of her debut album Shine. The song was produced by Wyclef Jean and the video features cameos from Kelly Rowland and Amanda Diva (What up Amanda!). Fellas be careful those camera phones are EVERYWHERE.
Okayplayer blogger extradanaire Amanda Diva is back with the latest episode of her Diva Speak TV series. Inside she runs down the news regarding Slick Rick's on his recent imigration ruling, women being let down by the industry while not sounding like a whiney femcee (this is a running thread we have going on here at Okayplayer), shout outs to OnSmash and Nahright, her repping Harlem while being from Orlando, and her upcoming events in NYC. Homegirl is funny with it.
As we continue to add and refine our artists blogs, the latest to join the fold is the lovely and talented Ms. Amanda Diva who's DivaSpeakTV on blogspot was just ported over to the Okayplayer Blogs channel yesterday. Check it out! More blogs, as well as a dedicated channel for all the blogs (to replace the current simple listing) are in the works.
