Audio: Tokyo Police Club ft. Aesop Rock and Yak Ballz (Amplive RMX)

What happens when you mix emo-rock, nerd rap, and producer Amplive?  You get this rocking hip-hop remix of Tokyo Police Club's "The Baskervilles" featuring Aesop Rock and Def Jux's Yak Ballz.  Off TPC's debut LP Elephant Shell on Saddle Creek Records, this song may not be your typical pick for a hip-hop remix, coming from a band hailed as terrifically bookish and emo. But watch above as Amplive gives us the breakdown of how he re-works this song, crafting beats, bass lines and vocals into something completely new and fresh.  We likey.  Thanks to Pitchfork for the mp3.

Show Review: El-P, Dizzee Rascal, & Busdrive in NYC

This Saturday night the El-P, Dizzee Rascal and Busdriver tour hit New York City's Webster Hall, with special guests Kidz In The Hall and Aesop Rock.
