A collection of great projects take center stage on this MLK-winning Mixtape Monday, beginning with Tao Te Gray from Mutant Academy’s own Graymatter.

We also follow up with Norvis Junior who appears to be nothing, Left Coast spitter Flashius Clayton serves an impossibly tough collection of joints entitled Wolf Moon and Maryland’s own Odd Mojo drops an absolute gem with the arrival of Channel Yo Mojo.

Everything But Nothing represents for the City of Brotherly Love with Still Broke and Not Famous. Cookin' Soul makes an appearance with Diggin’ Stories. K. Sparks & Es-K combine live instrumentation and crafty wordplay on Urban Couture. Dil Withers packs a bunch of instrumentals into CANTO and G-Spot closes things out with a set full of 90s rap classics for Pots & Pans Radio.

Be sure to go out and do an act of service in the name of the late, great Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Graymatter - Tao Te Gray

Described as “a brief investigation of arcane phenomena from across the globe,” Graymatter’s Tao Te Gray tape is a 16-track heater that landed just ahead of 2018. A true exploration of found sound, the project is a loop digger’s dreamscape that conjures the brave sample selection that anchors the catalogs of DOOM and Malik Abdul-Rahman, amongst others.

Norvis Junior - Norvis Junior Is Nothing

Norvis Junior makes a return to the lineup this week with Norvis Junior Is Nothing. The 13-track instrumental tape combines the best of hip-hop, dance and electronic production to create an ethereal collection that reflects his futurist leanings while packing plenty of thump into the mix.

Flashius Clayton- Wolf Moon

Cali spitter Flashius Clayton follows 2017's Money Makin Music with his latest collection of slappers entitled Wolf Moon. Another knuckle sandwich, the partially self-produced project combines razor sharp bars with gritty, soulful production that throws back to the dank classics of underground rap.

Odd Mojo - Channel Yo Mojo

Maryland’s own Odd Mojo follows the 94 EP with nine tracks of slice-of-life rap entitled Channel Yo Mojo. The release anchored by Odd Mojo's distinctive, laid-back flow is a window into the highs and lows of her life.

"Channel Yo Mojo" chronicles what I go through in life as far as self-esteem, confidence, anxiety, depression, and love. I hope it helps you as much as it helps me.

E.B.N. - Still Broke And Not Famous

Philadelphia-bred rap trio E.B.N. aka Everything But Nothing make waves with their Still Broke And Not Famous tape. A long time coming, the solid 11-track release combines blue collar everyman raps with groove-driven, nostalgic production.

Still Broke & Not Famous was technically created within the span of a year but these stories we tell goes back way farther than that. Cha$e Escobar, Ler Stevens & Yatt Bully came to deliver. Enjoy the Journey.

Cookin Soul - Diggin’ Stories

Spain’s own Cookin Soul follows the “Mask Off/Redbone” mashup remix with the 20-track Diggin’ Stories tape. If you know anything about Cookin Soul, you know dope samples form the backbone of the CS catalog. This instrumental voyage is no different and, true to form, there is plenty of soul chopped into the mix.

K. Sparks & Es-K - Urban Couture

MC/producer combo K. Sparks & Es-K lean on the time-honored combination of live instrumentation and straight spitting to propel their 13-track project entitled Urban Couture.

Urban Couture took two years to complete due to containing live instrumentation from various musicians from several locations. Fusions of Jazz, Neo Soul & Hip-Hop can all be traced within various layers of the project. Stretching conventional boundaries in regards to what is a modern day Hip-Hop album. The album title signifies the blending of two different realms. The urban dynamic representing communities in which we were raised, while combining the couture aspect which signifies something custom fit. This project is custom fit for mature listeners that appreciate the quality content.

Kanstructivist - W.M.T. 1996

Oxnard storehouse Official Kankick digs in the vaults to serve up the Worn Master Tapes aka W.M.T. 1996. The bite-sized tracklisting belies the booming instrumentals chosen for the 5-track true school release produced by Kanstructivist and mastered by Lootpack's own DJ Romes. If you like your beats dusty, this one’s for you.

Dil Withers - CANTO

Dil Withers drops a collection of "captivating melodies" entitled CANTO for boutique UK label Acorn Tapes.

This project is a culmination of the personal experience, growth and transformation brought on by intense change during a short period of time; A continuation and statement of where I’ve been, where I’m at, and where I am headed. A Canto is a division point in a long poem, and this is but one piece of the poem that is my existence. As a New York City based artist I am proud to share this work with you.

G-Spot - Pots & Pans Radio Ep. 50

G-Spot The Vinylcologist spins a two-hour set brimming with underground favorites and 90s hip-hop classics for Episode 50 of Pots & Pans Radio. Billed as a collection of “straight 90s underground goodies,’ the mix includes joints from Mic Geronimo, Ahmad, Redman, Jeru The Damaja, Jodeci, Guru, Royal Flush and more. Definitely a gem for the true heads.
