MF Doom & Black Thought Are "Mad Nice" On Unreleased Danger Doom Track

Danger Doom, the duo that makes up MF Doom and Danger Mouse (Brian Burton), will be releasing a reissue of their 2005 collaborative project The Mouse & the Mask in May.

The reissue is dropping on May 5 at Doom’s very own record label Metalface Records and will include “several bonus cuts not on the original album.” In anticipation of the release, Doom has released one of those cuts, “Mad Nice,” which features The Roots’ very own Black Thought and Vincent “Vinny” Price (his legendary sinister laugh is sampled throughout the track).

Black Thought takes on the first half of the track while Doom comes through halfway, both rapping over Price’s notorious laugh and Danger Mouse’s upbeat production.

The reissue of The Mouse & the Mask also includes a remastered version of the duo’s digital-only Occult Hymn EP. The seven-track project was released back in 2006. The last time The Mouse & the Mask was reissued was over two years ago, courtesy of Lex Records.

Depending on what you purchase the prices range from $15 to $60.

Several months back Doom became the host of a new weekly radio show installment on Ninja Tune, where he proceeded to play an hour-long set that included rare remixes and much more.

As for Burton, the producer recently made an appearance on Zane Lowe‘s Beat 1 Show where he was promoting his new project, Resistance Radio: The Man in the High Castle Album. During the interview, Burton proceeded to talk about the possibility of a Gnarls Barkley reunion, and how the possibility of that seemed likely until Donald Trump won the presidency.

“The last time we saw each other was the day before the election in Los Angeles,” Burton said, as he recalled the last time he saw Gnarls Barkley member CeeLo Green. “And we were supposed to meet the next day and I was like, ‘this thing will be over with by 7 o’clock West Coast time. I’ll see you around 8 or 9 or something.’ I was drinking heavily on a couch by myself staring at the TV at that time. I don’t even know where he was.”
