Just in case you ain’t know, the one, the only J. Period is going to be live at OKP HQ with us, chatting it up about his new project (Rise Up!) and dropping word on a surprise (which we’re happy to reveal).

That surprise just so happens to be that J. Period, along with the good folks at VIBE Magazine, are paying tribute to OutKast in a new tape that blends classic verses from André 3000 + Big Boi with crispy, clean new J. Period mixes.

Why, you ask, would somebody do such a thing?

Well, today (Apr. 26) marks the 23rd anniversary of OutKast’s debut album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, and it is nice to remember the important moments in hip-hop’s storied history. OutKast: ReFixed is a reminder of why these two A-town legends will forever be listed as part of hip-hop’s greatest duos.

J. Period aims to amplify their history to a new audience who might not be familiar with “B.O.B.,” or “Art of Storytellin'” while highlighting OutKast’s brilliance in a whole fantastic, artful way.

Listen to the project below + don’t forget to tune in to our chat with J. Period on our Facebook Live page at 3:30 p.m. EST.
